Tommy Wales is a prolific recording artist from
Rochester, NY . He is the founder and front man of the
Christian Rock Band WALES ROAD, capably handling
vocals,guitar,harmonica and songwriting duties.
Steve Rousseau (bass) and Bobby Stahlbrodt (drums)
round out the current line up.
Wales Road have been impressing Western New York music
fans for years, playing churches, colleges, clubs and
festivals with zeal. Wales Road has performed at
venues as diverse as Roberts Wesleyan College,
Milestones, The Bug Jar, Water Street Music Hall,
Richmond's Bar & Grill, Montage Music Hall, The Penny
Arcade, Sea Breeze Park, Impact Theater and The Sons
of God Motorcycle Club.
Frank DeBlase, Music Editor of City Magazine,
describes Wales Road tunes as ranging from
"...riff-loaded heavy rock & power ballads to
pop-esque ditties to acoustic/electric blues..."
Michelle Picardo of Free Time Magazine dubs the band
"...taking metallic punk to heavenly heights...".
Matt Miller of What's Up Magazine writes:
"Take equal parts southern rock (The Allman Brothers),
and retro 80's new wave (The Cars), add one teaspoon
of modern alternative sound (REM), sprinkle with some
blues, shake well, very well, and pour over ample
portions of the Gospel and serve. Add volume to taste
and chow down. Now you'll begin to grasp the
fundamental rock'n'roll sound of Wales Road."
Wales Road's ballads reflect a kinder-gentler musical
side and are penned with devotional and spiritual
intimacy. Tommy Wales has ministered in Acoustic Song
at Elim Bible Institute, Elmira Correctional Facility,
Teen Challenge, The Open Door Mission, Koinoinia
Fellowship, Strong Memorial Hospital, Reformation
Lutheran and New Life Presbyterian.
Tommy occasionally leads worship at Oasis Christian
Fellowship, his home church located in Webster, NY
Wales Road tunes chart extensively on the Independent

story 'Rock'n'Roll Soul: The Wales Road to Heaven'.
Wales Road listed in Free Time Magazine's Top 10 Indie
albums three years in row: 'BLuR' in 2004, 'Praying
Mantis' in 2005 and 'Snake Hisses and Judas Kisses' in
2006. L.David Wheeler, Sunday Editor of The Daily
Messenger pens in his CD review of Rock'n'Roll Dizzy
Man: "...Wales Road maintains a high standard of
musicianship and lyrical development, much like Phil
Keaggy,Jars of Clay, The 77's and REZ..."
Tommy Wales wears his heart on his sleeve in his
lyrics, with the belief that if he is honest about his
own struggles, he is able to communicate the Mercy of
God. With a guitar slung over his shoulder and a song
in his heart for his King, Tommy prays his music bless
the ears and hearts of those who listen.
Although the lineup has varied down through the years,
one thing has remained consistent: Tommy Wales is a
man who is passionate about reflecting his Faith in
the midst of a fallen world through his Audio Art.
